Every production is personally curated.
Every production begins with you. Your personality, your work, your audience and the way the imagery needs to work all shape the visual direction. I develop the visual direction and personally lead the photographic process. Depending on the production, I assemble a carefully selected team of highly experienced stylists and hair & make-up artists from the fashion, beauty and editorial industry, as well as specialist video and production professionals when required.

The way a production looks is shaped long before I pick up the camera. We define the visual direction, locations, wardrobe, looks and content requirements before the shoot. Depending on the production, I work with a carefully selected team of highly experienced professional stylists and Hair & Make-up artists whose backgrounds are in fashion, beauty and editorial. They understand how clothing, hair, make-up, colour and detail translate on camera. The aim is not to turn you into somebody else. It is to make sure everything works together.
You don't need to know how to pose.
Most of my clients are not professional models, and they don't need to be. I guide you through expression, posture and movement when needed, while leaving enough freedom for the images to feel natural and recognisably you.

Some stories benefit from a different setting. I offer selected Personal Branding and Executive Portrait productions in Cape Town, Tenerife, Mallorca and other international locations. A destination production allows us to work with exceptional architecture, landscape, natural light and multiple locations while creating a broader visual library across photography and film. Selected dates can sometimes be booked while I am already working at a destination. Bespoke international productions can also be arranged specifically for you.

I’m Astrid M. Obert, photographer and Creative Director. For over 30 years, I’ve worked across fashion, beauty, editorial, advertising and international productions. That experience still shapes the way I see people, light, movement and visual presence today. I work intuitively, but with intention. I guide when needed, observe when it matters and create an atmosphere in which people can remain themselves. My aim is not simply to make someone look good. It is to create images that feel true, confident and unmistakably theirs. I love what I do. And I still believe the strongest images happen in the moments between the moments.

Preparation can also include wardrobe direction, visual planning and look development so that everything works together on camera.
Can you help me choose my outfits?

Yes. Wardrobe planning can be part of the preparation. Together we look at your wardrobe, colours, locations and the different types of content we want to create. When appropriate, one of my professional stylists can support the process in greater depth.
Can photography and film be created during the same production?

Yes. Photography and short-form video can be planned together so one production creates a coherent visual library for your website, LinkedIn, Instagram, Reels, PR and other communication channels.
How many images will I receive?

There is no fixed number of final images. The selection depends on the scope of the production and, above all, on which photographs are genuinely strong and useful for you. From the preview selection, we choose the final images together, based on your communication needs and the different ways the imagery will be used.
Can we create content for several months in one production?

Yes, depending on the scope of the production. By planning different looks, settings, portrait situations and short-form film in advance, one production can create a versatile visual library for ongoing communication across different channels.
Where can I use my images and videos?

Usage is agreed individually for each production. Typical Personal Branding projects can include your website, LinkedIn, social media, PR, presentations and other professional communication. Broader advertising, campaign or commercial usage is defined separately where required.
Are usage rights included?

The agreed usage rights are clearly defined in every proposal so you know how the commissioned photography and video can be used. Usage requirements can be adapted according to the scope of your business and communication.
Can you photograph my team as well?

Yes. Personal Branding can be extended to founders, leadership teams and entire business teams, so that individual portraits, team photography and company imagery share one coherent visual language.
Where can productions take place?

Productions can take place in the studio, outdoors, at your company, practice, office, hotel or another carefully selected location. We choose the setting based on the visual concept, the people involved, and the content we want to create.
Do you work outside Munich?

Yes. I am based in Munich and work throughout Germany, the DACH region and internationally for selected productions.
Do you offer Destination Personal Branding?

Yes. I offer selected Personal Branding and Executive Portrait productions in destinations such as Cape Town, Tenerife and Mallorca. When I am already working at a destination, selected production dates may be available locally. Bespoke international productions can also be arranged specifically for you.
Do you offer fixed packages?

No. Every production is tailored because content needs, locations, team requirements, usage and production scope can vary considerably. After our personal consultation, you receive a clear individual proposal covering the production scope, planned deliverables, team requirements and costs.
How far in advance should I book?

For larger productions involving styling, Hair & make-up, film or several locations, planning is recommended. Smaller productions can sometimes be arranged more quickly, depending on availability.
How are the final images selected and retouched?
+
After the production, I create a low-resolution preview selection from the full shoot. From this image pool, we choose the strongest photographs together. The selected images are then professionally retouched and prepared as final high- and low-resolution files. If requested, the preview selection can also be provided in black and white. The final retouching scope is defined in your individual proposal.
When will I receive the final images?

Delivery timing depends on the scope of the production and the number of final assets. The expected timeline is defined in your proposal, so you know in advance when photography, film and other agreed content will be delivered.
Can you work with our existing brand guidelines or marketing team?

Yes. I can work within an existing visual identity or collaborate with your internal marketing team, agency or other creative partners. The aim is to create imagery that feels distinctly yours while working coherently within the wider brand.
Can a production remain confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality can be agreed for selected productions. If imagery should not be published in my portfolio, website or social channels, this can be discussed and defined before the production.
